Neodymium oxide, with the chemical formula Nd2O3, is a metal oxide. It has the property of being insoluble in water and soluble in acids. Neodymium oxide is mainly used as a coloring agent for glass and ceramics, as well as a raw material for manufacturing neodymium metal and strong magnetic neodymium iron boron. Adding 1.5% to 2.5% nano neodymium oxide to magnesium or aluminum alloys can improve the high-temperature performance, airtightness, and corrosion resistance of alloys, and is widely used as aerospace materials. In addition, nano yttrium aluminum garnet doped with neodymium oxide generates short wave laser beams, which are widely used in industry for welding and cutting thin materials with a thickness of less than 10mm. In medical practice, nano yttrium aluminum garnet lasers doped with neodymium oxide are used instead of surgical knives to remove surgical or disinfect wounds. Nano neodymium oxide is also used for coloring glass and ceramic materials, as well as for rubber products and additives. Appearance: Light blue solid powder, turns dark blue when damp. Nature: Easy to be affected by moisture and absorb carbon dioxide in the air. Solubility: insoluble in water, soluble in inorganic acids.
