Description

HfO2 is an oxide of the nitride element, at room temperature and under normal pressure is a white solid. White
powder, with three crystal structures: single oblique, quad and cubic, melting point 2780 to 2920K. Boiling point 5400K. The coefficient of thermal expansion is 5.8 × 10-6 degrees C. Insoluble in water, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, soluble in
concentrated sulfuric acid and fluorohydroic acid. It is obtained by thermal decomposition or hydrolysis of compounds such as vanadium sulfate and chloride oxide. Raw materials for the production of metal and vanadium alloys. Used as refractory materials, anti-radioactive coatings and catalysts.
