Lutetium oxide (also known as lutetia) is a chemical compound with the formula Lu2O3. It is a rare earth oxide and a white solid material with a cubic crystal structure. Lutetium oxide is a high-temperature superconductor and is also used as a catalyst and as a material for making phosphors for use in cathode ray tubes and fluorescent lamps. It is also used in the production of ceramics and as a dopant in semiconductor devices.
